He was 23 / when his first novel “Other Voices, Other Rooms” was published. His novel, “Breakfast / at Tiffany’s first ran in Esquire magazine, was then published as a book and made / into a movie starring Audrey Hepburn. It was mainly on the proceeds of “Breakfast / at Tiffany’s” that he supported himself during the six-year period in which he re- / searched and wrote”In Cold Blood”.
