Credit: [star] / from BLACK STAR / GRAYBAR BUILDING, NEW YORKINTERFOTOCaptions: Verso: Venice Film Festival, 1954 ? It?s the turn of Italian film `La Romana.? Gina Lollobrigida, the beautiful and most famous Italian actress, during the show of Italian film `La Romana? (The Roman Woman) by director Luigi Zampa. The film wasn?t really so good as it was expected, although Luigi Zampa is very well considered in Italy, but Gina Lollobrigida had an enormous personal success. The film tells the story of a beautiful girl who, during the war time, is longing for pure and honest love. But her sentiments end into the worse misery as she finds that the man she loves is married and her other great love, (who is Daniel Gelin) a patriot, kills himself as he is imprisoned by Germans, for the fear of betraying his fellows. The film was drawn out from a novel by famous Italian writer Alberto Moravia.Markings:Verso: Venice Film Festival, 1954 ? It?s the turn of Italian film `La Romana.?
