The / squadron is composed of ships, participating on / a rotational basis, provided by NATO member / countries which normally operate naval forces in / the Atlantic. The squadron, which is in / permanent formation is called NATO’s Standing / Naval Force Atlantic (STANAVFORLANT). / Since its formation STANAVFORLANT has taken part / in many exercises in European and North American / waters and has thus provided a tangible reminder / of the unity and solidarity of the Atlantic / Alliance.
